Child Care Resource & Referral — Conflict of Interest Policy

Board Approved January 17, 2008

Southeastern Child Care Resource and Referral Agency does not provide child care and is prohibited from establishing a child care program. Referrals to child care providers are based on information gathered from the family and are free from bias. SOSU CCR&R shall provide referrals, not recommendations, to the public.

Staff visits to child care providers shall be for technical assistance and consultation, not for monitoring. To minimize the agency's liability, on-site consultations concerning licensing standards will be referred to the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Licensing Division.

PROCEDURE

Southeastern Child Care Resource and Referral Agency uses NACCRRAware, a referral software program to provide child care referrals. The software program generates a referral list based on the information gathered from families. SOSU CCR&R will provide those referrals to families in the order generated by the software program. This procedure helps to ensure that staff is not selecting child care programs for families.

When conducting on-site visits to child care programs, agency staff will assure the providers that the visit is not for monitoring purposes. Agency staff visits are for support, assistance, and informational purposes only
