Southeastern’s Permanent Art Collection:
The Charles
& Miriam Hogan Native American Art Works
August 23 - September 24, 2010

New Capital Exhibit at Centre Gallery opens Sept. 4, 2009
Traci Martin and Shelley Tate-Garner, both alumna of Southeastern's Visual Arts department will be featured in a Two-person exhibit at Centre Gallery from September 4 to October 2, 2009.
Traci Martin, co-founder of Studio 107 in Ardmore, graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art. She will be exhibiting a series of photographs which was featured earlier this year at the State Capital Gallery in OKC.
Traci’s intent is to promote recognition and appreciation for the spiritual quality and raw power of color using her photography as a visual narrative. Her photography is her artistic record of "the intersection of color inherent in common, everyday settings. This tragically unrealized beauty hides before our very eyes,” explained Martin.
Shelley Tate-Garner graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2002, specializing in painting and ceramics. Shelley will be displaying work from her exhibit, Beyond Modern: Acrylic on Acrylic Wall Sculptures, which was featured at the State Capital Gallery in OKC earlier this year.
Shelley, owner of ArtPlace Gallery in Denison, is a contemporary multi-media artist who creates a combination of sculpture and painting using forms made from plexiglas. Shelley explains that the works in this series explore an inner journey of emotional highs and lows expressed through a visual medium.
An opening reception for the artists will be held September 18th from 7 to 9pm at the Centre Gallery in the Visual and Performing Art Center. The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm or by arrangement. For further information about exhibits at the Centre Gallery or Gallery 133 contact Dave Barnes at 745-2446 or dbarnes@se.edu
