About the Math Club

The Southeastern Mathematics Club (SMC) is a student chapter of the MAA. The primary objective of the SMC is to advance the understanding of mathematics within SE and to promote interest in such a field. Any Southeastern student who has an interest in mathematics may join the SMC.

Here are just a few facts to get you interested in the Math Club:

  • We attend two math conferences each year – the TORUS conference in February and the MAA regional meeting in late March/early April.
  • We sometimes get together and play Math Jeopardy, or have a movie night at Dr. Moretti’s, or go bowling, play volleyball, or have a game night, etc.
  • We sometimes bring in guest speakers.
  • We have a Math Club Christmas party in December.
  • We have a spring picnic at the end of the Spring semester.
  • Any SE student can join the Math Club, but to be an officer youmust be a math major or minor.
