Business Affairs

The Division of Business Affairs is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the goals of Southeastern Oklahoma State University while maintaining a visible commitment to excellence. This will be achieved by providing or facilitating programs that enhance the quality and effectiveness of the institution. A best practices environment will be created that fosters quality, integrity, leadership, flexibility, creativity, participation and strategic partnerships with other campus and community constituencies.

Vision

The Division of Business Affairs will work effectively and collaboratively to support and advance the viability of Southeastern Oklahoma State University in fulfillment of its academic mission with service to:Provide diligent efforts and dependable financial services to the campus community through professional expertise, maintaining sound financial records, and seeking continuous improvements.

Provide and communicate all human resource services (employment, benefits and payroll) to the University community, and continually search for and implement better and more efficient ways to provide these services while ensuring compliance with University, RUSO and OSRHE policies and procedures, and federal and state employment and benefit laws.

Provide professional, student focused, cost effective service regarding student billing, housing and post office with innovative procedures.

Provide a stewardship toward the physical facilities, grounds and the surrounding environment in support of the programs of the University and ensure campus facilities are in the best possible working condition.

Provide a safe environment for the University community and protect the financial, property, environmental and human resources of the University.

Provide the University with premium quality printing and publication services, photocopy equipment acquisition, records management consulting and storage, and central receiving services, while vigilantly pursuing fiscal efficiency and complete customer satisfaction.

Statement of Ethics

Professional ethics are the foundation of an organization. If they are clear, firm and diligently maintained, our ethics can support great endeavors. Ethics represent our vital standards that are documented as the principles we believe in, the values to which we adhere, and the practices we follow. Unwavering adherence to high ethical standards will only be of benefit to those we serve, those to whom we are accountable, and ourselves. While the results of our service efforts will always be of critical importance, ethics focus on the choices we make in our professional endeavors. The Division of Business Affairs professional ethics include:

Integrity: Maintain high standards of personal conduct, practicing honesty in all our professional relationships and endeavors. Be truthful in our actions and words. Let our decisions and deeds be based on the greater good of the University and not personal advantage. Exercise prudence and integrity in safeguarding University resources. Use fairness, impartiality, and objectivity to guide decision.

Respect: Treat those with whom we work and those we serve with civility and consideration. Actively strive to merit the respect, trust, and confidence of colleagues, students, and the public.

Diligence: Exercise due professional care in the performance of every aspect of our work. Diligently devote our time, abilities, and energies to our responsibilities and duties.

Reliability: Perform our professional duties with dependability, being watchful of the compliance aspects of our profession that are so critical to our service role. Embrace accountability for our work and service. Fully understand and be responsive to the needs of those we serve and always strive for the highest level of performance. Work to uphold the letter and spirit of our policies and regulations.

Discretion: Be trustworthy with confidential information, but mindful of appropriate disclosure obligations. Appropriately protect privileged information and follow university established procedures to inquiries for public information.

Competence: continually strive to enhance our professional skills so we may improve service to the University community. Seek out and participate in professional development opportunities for us and our colleagues, in order to maintain, as well as enhance, competencies.
