“Tackle Domestic Violence” Fundraiser 2013

For the third year in a row (see information regarding last year’s event here), the Graduate Counseling Students  held a “Tackle Domestic Violence” fundraising event for the Crisis Control Center in Durant. For this event, a bake sale was held in Morrison Hall from January 29,-31 2013. Several students prepare baked goods and staffed the bake sale table on a voluntary basis. Students also sold baked goods in the different offices across campus. Lastly, some students and others on campus held “Super Bowl Party Fundraisers” to contribute to the cause.

We had a tremendous response to the event and received numerous donations. The total amount raised from this event was an amazing $1,301.00! Great appreciation is offered to all who prepared and purchased bake sale items and made donations to this important community cause. Individuals who made donations of $5 or more were entered into a drawing for several prizes donated from different entities on campus and in the community.

The following individuals deserve special recognition for their contributions in making this fundraiser such a tremendous success:

  • The Graduate Counseling Students
  • Dr. Stan Alluisi and members of the SE Aviation Management Department
  • Roma Italian Restaurant of Durant
  • Ms. Stephanie Davison in SE Alumni Relations
