TAPSI

The Texoma Association for Public School Improvement (TAPSI) is currently in its seventeenth year of service to school districts in southeastern Oklahoma and northern Texas. The primary purpose of the association is to foster improvement at all levels of public education and to develop and implement cooperative networking among school districts and the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  TAPSI is committed to continuing its tradition of presenting quality programs by the nation’s top educational speakers, at a minimal cost to the participants.

Membership to TAPSI is open to any public school district in southeastern Oklahoma and northern Texas. Membership is extended to administrators, classroom teachers, supervisors, curriculum directors, staff development directors, and school board members.  The benefits of belonging to TAPSI are personal interaction with counterparts in other districts; opportunities to hear outstanding leaders in the areas of school improvement; shared information concerning school effectiveness/improvement research, programs, and resources.  TAPSI offers an outstanding line-up of programs.

Past speakers have included Guy Doud, Rick Lavoie, Heather Sparks (Oklahoma Teacher of the Year, 2009), Harry Wong, Jim Fay, Sally Zepeda, Ruby Payne, Deborah Estes, Hal Urban, and Frosty Troy.

Executive Director of TAPSI is Dr. Jerry Stout.  He can be reached at 580-745-2602 or jstout@se.edu.
