Nine Southeastern Oklahoma State University Occupational Safety students recently attended the annual TEXO Construction Safety Professionals Conference at the Grapevine, Texas Convention Center. Two of the students were presented awards.  Ethan Fenley received a $2,000 academic scholarship from the organization while Drake Haggard was presented with a YETI cooler (a prized possession among construction workers).

At the conference, the SE Occupational Safety program was singled out for praise by the Occupational Safety & Health Administrations (OSHA) Assistant Regional Administrator, Josh Flesher.  The students were presented with seminars focused on working with millennial employees, fall protection, legal requirements, and insurance and risk management.  Dr. Wayne D. Jones led the group.

Attending the conference were (L to R):  Ethan Fenley, Price Davis, Blake Wisdom, Heath Carr, Drake Haggard, Even Fincher, Jesse Camp, Keelan Gentis, and Brandon Mills.
