Breastfeeding Locations

Employee, Office, and Work Locations:

The following list has been compiled to assist mothers in finding a convenient location to express breast milk on the SOSU Durant campus. Please review the instructions provided for each location to determine how to use or schedule the room. You will note that some locations are open only to faculty, staff and students of a particular School or Department. If your building is not listed, contact your department administrator to inquire about room availability. Other rooms may be available within University units.

Locations:
  • Biological Services, Room 226. * Chair, desk, water in hall, and bathroom. * Door locks from the inside. Use is first come, first serve.
  • Aviation/Eaker Field, Room 109. * Lounge area with multiple amenities including water. * Door locks from the inside. Use is first come, first serve.
  • Bloomer Sullivan Arena, Upper Deck, Family bathroom. * Chair placed in restroom for use. * Door locks from the inside. Use is first come, first serve.
  • Wellness Center, Women’s Locker Room. * Chair, water, No privacy. * Room key with Wellness Center staff. Use is first come, first serve.
  • Henry G. Bennett Memorial Library, Archive Room 2A. * Chair placed in room for use. * Door locks from the inside. Use is first come, first serve.

Procedure and Rules

  • Place the “Please do not disturb” sign on the outside of the door prior to use, and remove from door after use is complete. Be sure to leave the sign in the room after use.
  • The lactation room’s sole intent is for the purpose of expressing breast milk or breastfeeding. Any other purpose is in violation of the room intent.
  • Please maintain cleanliness of this room, and do not leave any items in the room for storage after use. The University is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
  • Please report any maintenance issues with the room to (580)-745-2867

If you are interested in using the Lactation Rooms please fill out the following forms and return to the specified location. Once the form has been returned, please allow ten business days for accommodations to be finalized.
