Assistant Professor of Applied Vocal

Southeastern Oklahoma State University invites applications for the full-time position of tenure track Assistant Professor in vocal music (bass baritone preferred). The position includes teaching private applied voice for all voice types and ability levels and preparing students for mid-level proficiency exam and junior/senior recitals. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach courses in lyric diction, vocal pedagogy, and/or vocal literature. Additional responsibilities include directing the opera theater and an additional choral ensemble. Ability to play simple piano accompaniments for private vocal students is important to this position. This position also requires service on departmental/university committees, and active involvement in the recruitment of students. Candidates must have a master’s degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy, prior experience teaching at the university level and choral direction experience. A Doctorate of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy or ABD and Bass/Baritone Performer is preferred.
