Assistant Football Coach / Instructor

Southeastern Oklahoma State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Football Coach/HPER Instructor. Candidates are expected to have an earned Master’s degree, or in the late stages of completion, with adequate professional preparation for teaching health, physical education, and recreation at the university level and a coaching/athletics background providing skills, knowledge, and experience for success at the college level. Coaching experience at one or more NCAA institutions and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations are preferred.

Teaching assignment: eight hours as assigned by the Chair of the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department. Coaching assignment: works under the direct supervision of the head football coach in coaching, recruiting, and monitoring academic success of football players. When needed is subject to other coaching assignments by the Director of Athletics. Comply with all university, conference, and NCAA rules while assisting the head football coach in recruiting, planning practices, developing game strategies, conducting off-season training and conditioning, and coaching the university football team. Assist in the planning and management of a football program that reflects the highest standards of integrity and student success on and off the field.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Employment is contingent upon the results of a national criminal and sex offender background checks.
