Instructor or Assistant Professor in Occupational Safety & Health
Southeastern Oklahoma State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position or instructor (non-tenure track) in Occupational Safety and Health. Candidates must have an earned doctorate degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related Occupational Safety and Health field from an accredited university with a background in Safety Program Management, Occupational Safety Law, Construction Safety, Risk Management/Loss Control, and/or Systems Safety in order to be considered for the Assistant Professorship. Candidates for the instructor position must possess from an accredited university a Master of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a closely related Occupational Safety and Health field as listed above. Certification in CSP, ARM, or ALCM is highly desirable. Candidates are expected to provide evidence of effective classroom teaching; research/scholarship; and contributions to the institution and profession commensurate with rank.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University, founded in 1909, with a student enrollment of approximately 4200, is located in Durant, Oklahoma, 80 miles north of Dallas, Texas, and 150 southeast of Oklahoma City. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Employment is contingent upon the results of a national criminal and sex offender background checks. Position begins August 2010. Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, official transcripts must be received directly from each degree-granting institution by the Office of Academic Affairs; however, for review of application, applicants may submit unofficial transcripts from each institution of higher education attended directly to the Search Committee Chair. Applicants for this position will include a letter addressing your interest and qualifications, a vita, copies of transcripts, and three letters of recommendations.
