To be admitted as an International student you must:
- Meet equivalent academic performance standards as listed under New Freshmen Admission, and/or Transfer Admission. Students transferring from U.S. universities must be in proper status with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Any F–1 visa holder who has been out of school a semester (other than summer vacation) or has been a part – time student must make application for reinstatement of F–1 status before being accepted to study at Southeastern.
- Application for admission and all required supporting documentation must be received in the Office of Admissions on or before:Your application for admission will not be processed if no Major is indicated on the application. Be sure to indicate your Immediate Educational Goal & Major.
- June 1 for the Fall Semester
- November 1 for the Spring Semester
- April 1 for the Summer Semester
International Student Steps to Admission
Thank you for your interest in attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University. We know you are concerned about receiving an I20. We will issue an I20 upon admission and receipt of all necessary official supporting credentials required by the United States Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Please complete, sign and return your Application for Admission (BE SURE TO INDICATE A MAJOR) along with the following documents:
- Statement of Understanding (signed and dated).
- Affidavit of Support (Dependent Spouse, Graduate Students, Undergraduate Students) – letter of financial backing signed by your sponsor, verified by bank/financial institution official, presented in English and US dollars, signed and dated (valid for six (6) months from semester of acceptance).
- TOEFL/IELTS Scores – official TOEFL/IELTS scores must be sent directly to Southeastern from the testing center (scores are valid for two (2) years).
- Graduate Students – in the Master of Arts Degree Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling need GRE scores; in the Master of Business Administration program need GMAT scores; in the Master of Education program need GRE scores. Must be sent directly to Southeastern from the Testing Center (scores valid for five (5) years).
- Official Transcripts – undergraduate students need official English-translated transcripts of secondary (high school) and/or previous college work. Graduate students need official English-transcripts of any previous college work. Photocopies of original transcripts are not acceptable. Transcripts must bear the official school seal. Any college/university attended (in or outside the United States) must be indicated on the application form.
- Transcript Evaluations – Transcripts and credentials from outside the United States must be analyzed by an educational credential evaluation service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). For a list of current members, visit their website at www.naces.org. You may contact these evaluators at your convenience by mail/telephone/internet at the locations provided for necessary forms or information regarding fees and time lines of evaluations.
- Advisor’s report (Transfer In, Transfer Out) – (if applicable) from the last college/university in the United States attended; must be mailed directly from the US college/university to Southeastern.
- Two (2) small photographs – with applicant’s signature on the back.
- $55.00 (US dollars) Non-refundable Application Fee – applies to one (1) semester of acceptance.
- Foreign address – SEVIS requirements include a foreign (home country) address before an I20 will be issued.
- Hospitalization policy – with beginning/ending dates and amount of Repatriation Benefit. - Immunization Requirements – International students will be required to begin the immunization compliance process once they arrive on campus. Students must either be vaccinated against hepatitis B and measles, mumps and rubella (MMR); complete Certification of Compliance form stating the vaccine conflicts with his/her moral or religious beliefs; or provide written statement from a licensed physician which indicates a vaccine is medically contraindicated.
