Our partnership works with the state department
of education to assure our academic enrichment programs are in
alignment with state PASS standards, and to provide professional
development opportunities to our teachers. |

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher
Education As the state administrator
of a GEAR UP grant and the center of information on Oklahoma
colleges and universities, the Regents provide assistance in
administering the partnership grants in many ways. Perhaps the most
important program is
OHLAP, the
Oklahoma Higher Learning Access Program, which promises
free college tuition to students whose family income is less than
$50,000 per year.

Kiamichi Technology Centers
By providing services to SOSU GEAR UP students,
the Kiamichi Technology Centers help prepare southeastern Oklahoma
students for college on a daily basis. |

Schoolware, Inc.
This locally owned educational technology
business works with the partnership to provide cutting-edge software
and hardware and technical training for teachers at discounted
rates. |

Wal-Mart
Wal-Mart has provided rewards for GEAR UP
students and space for GEAR UP promotional materials. |
Programs and Organizations

Federal GEAR UP Program
The U.S. Department of Education GEAR UP
program provides various resources to the SOSU GEAR UP
Partnership. |

National Council for Community and
Education Partnerships NCCEP
hosts professional development conferences for GEAR UP staff
twice yearly, and the partnership participates regularly.

Choctaw Nation
Headquartered in Durant, the Choctaw Nation
has been very generous to the partnership in donating resources,
time, and funding for various programs. |

Chickasaw Nation
Headquartered in Ada, the
Chickasaw Nation also gives various resources to the partnership
to strengthen the skills of its people. |
