| The oversize books are books that are taller than what would fit on a normal shelf. Normal distances between
shelves in the library is 12 inches or less, because most books are 12 inches or less in height. Oversize books can be
up to 17 inches tall. Also most regular books are less than 9 inches wide, while oversize books can be up to
17 inches wide. It is easier to manage the large books in one area. Most of the oversize books are in the 700s, or
the arts, and so they are shelved next to the 700s on the third floor. The number of oversize books in the collection is small,
with 205 in the collection. |
