Welcome to Southeastern Oklahoma State University - McCurtain County Campus.
The University partners with Eastern Oklahoma State College to provide courses and degree programs to students throughout southeast Oklahoma, southwest Arkansas and northeast Texas.
Dr. Chris McAllister (Science Professor-EOSC Idabel) and three EOSC microbiology students (Tammy Bagsby, Janice Norwood, and Candice Young) attended the 101st annual meeting of the Oklahoma Academy of Science at the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, Oklahoma, on Friday, November 9. Dr. McAllister presented a paper entitled, “New state records for two invertebrates (Nematomorpha, Arthropoda) in Oklahoma.” Coauthors were Steve Chordas, III and Ben Hanelt of The Ohio State University and University of New Mexico, respectively. Dr. McAllister and colleagues reported the gordiid, Chordodes morgani and the hemipteran, Leptoglossus corculus in the state for the first time. This brings to three species the number of gordiids and four species of Leptoglossus in Oklahoma. These findings are to be published in a forthcoming issue of the Proceedings of the Oklahoma Academy of Science.
