Mariachi Espuelas de Plata

Mariachi Espuelas de Plata is dedicated to performing music in the authentic Mariachi style and also sharing the traditions through music education. The ensemble is composed of 6 well-respected musicians who have been playing together for over 10 years in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding areas. Their passion for passing on the culture of Mariachi is evident in their vibrant and energetic performances. This performance will be on the lawn of the Montgomery building.

Corrado Greco

Corrado Greco got his piano degree "magna cum laude" at the age of 19 in 1981 and completed degrees in composition and electronic music at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi, Milan. He has been a prizewinner of important national and international piano competitions and has performed as a soloist for some of the most important Italian concert institutions and festivals in many countries. Corrado Greco teaches at Verdi Conservatory in Milan and serves as Artistic Director of the University of Insubria in Varese.

Talujon

Described by the New York Times as an ensemble possessing an "edgy, unflagging energy", Talujon, a percussion ensemble based in New York, has been mesmerizing audiences since 1990. Talujon is thoroughly committed to the expansion of the contemporary percussion repertoire as well as the education and diversification of its worldwide audience. Over the past 20 years, Talujon has commissioned dozens of new works for percussion and has performed in festivals and concerts world-wide.

The Zodiac Trio

The Zodiac Trio, comprised of clarinet, violin, and piano, was formed at the Manhattan School of Music and has performed in leading venues worldwide. The Trio is a strong advocate of outreach work and education, helping raise tomorrow's classical music audience as well as presenting master classes and guidance to future performances at conservatories and universities. The Zodiac Trio has given numerous presentations and clinics at elementary, junior and high schools in Canada, the United States, France and in China.

Hugues Leclère

Hugues Leclère, pianist, graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with high honors in piano, music theory, and chamber music. He performs in more than 50 concerts a season in France and abroad and has been invited to perform by many orchestras worldwide. Mr. Leclére is known as an outstanding interpreter of Debussy, Ravel and their contemporaries, and is also a master in the repertoire of Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, and Haydn. Hugues Leclère teaches at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon and is the artistic director of the international festival Nancyphonies.

Armonia Celeste

Armonia Celeste specializes in rarely heard repertoire from the Italian Renaissance and early Baroque. The group is comprised of three distinct female voices accompanied by period instruments: lute, theorbo, guitar, and the rare arpa doppia (Baroque triple harp). Each of the five members of the ensemble is a highly experienced solo performer; together, the musicians create an unforgettable combination of varied vocal and instrumental colors, florid ornamentation, expressiveness, and a noticeable passion for this repertoire.

Petar Jankovic

Petar Jankovic, international award-winning classical guitarist and faculty member at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, joins forces with a string quartet comprised of brilliant musicians from the prestigious Indiana University. This collaboration creates a very unique and attractive classical crossover – chamber ensemble: string quartet led by guitar. The string quartet and guitar blend infuses new vigor and refreshing outlook in combination with the group’s expressive and enjoyable renditions. The ensemble is well-received across a wide audience spectrum – from traditional chamber music lovers to guitar enthusiasts.

Moran Quintet
April 2, 2013
One of the most active and visible quintets in the Midwest, the Moran Woodwind Quintet is the resident faculty woodwind quintet of the University of Nebraska School of Music. Formed in 1986 and named for the late John Moran, Director of the School of Music, the Quintet has toured extensively, and have also performed at conventions of the College Music Society, the International Double Reed Society and the International Horn Society.
