Southeastern Offers College Payment Education to Students & Families
Press Release Date: 01-04-2007
Students and their parents can have one-on-one, expert advice in learning about financial aid and planning for college during the upcoming statewide event, College Goal Sunday.
On Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, students and their families can attend College Goal Sunday and visit with financial aid counselors and college staff in person from 2–4 p.m., at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. The event will be held on the main campus on the first floor of the Russell Building (John Massey School of Business).
In a single afternoon, students and their families can become familiar with college entrance requirements, learn about planning for college and obtain on-site assistance in filling out financial aid application forms. (Those interested in this service should bring their 2006 tax information to the event.) In addition, valuable information will be shared about the benefits of attending college, student support services, areas of study and different degree programs.
“This is an excellent opportunity for students and parents to learn more about the financial aid process,” said Ms. Sherry Foster, director of financial aid at SOSU. “Our staff always looks forward to meeting prospective students and their families and answering any questions they might have about financial aid or any other aspect of higher education.”
For more information about the event, contact Ms. Foster at 580-745-2186.
The College Goal Sunday program was created by the Indiana Student Financial Aid Association with funding from Lilly Endowment, Inc., and with supplemental support from Lumina Foundation for Education.
