SOSU makes plans for Homecoming Parade

The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Student Government Association is proud to announce that the 2007 Homecoming Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. on the campus.
“The entire community is invited to join us for the parade and Homecoming–Parents’ Day celebration,” said Liz McCraw, Dean of Students. “We are very excited to bring back the traditional parade and are looking forward to campus and community entries.”
Community organizations, little league teams, performance groups, car clubs, and businesses are encouraged to participate in the parade. Walking entries, floats and decorated vehicles are welcome. This year’s parade theme is “Reign of the Storm.”
To enter the parade, an individual or group should contact Michael Dennis at (580) 271-1955. There is no entry fee and the deadline for entry is Wednesday, Oct. 24.
The parade will begin on 7th street heading east on University. It will turn north on 6th street and travel around the University loop. It will turn east again onto University and then travel north on 4th Street to Dunlap. Line’up will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the 7th street parking lot.
Visitors are encouraged to get to campus early. Event parking is located behind the Administration Building on 7th Street and behind other buildings on the North side of campus.
