SOSU Symphonic Band Concert—Monday, February 26

The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Symphonic Band will present its first concert of the season on Monday, February 26, at 7:30 p.m. at Montgomery Auditorium on the SOSU campus.
Under the baton of David Christy, Director of Bands, the band will perform “Nobles Of The Mystic Shrine,” by John Philip Sousa; “This Land Of El Dorado,” by W. Francis McBeth; The Finale from “Symphony No. 5,” by Dmitri Shostakovich; “Bugler’s Holiday,” by Leroy Anderson; “Symphonic Prelude,” by Mark Camphouse; and “Themes from Green Bushes,” by Percy Granger.
“Bugler’s Holiday” will feature three trumpet performance majors—Ryan Steward a senior trumpet performance major from Denison, TX; John Vietta a sophomore performance major from Durant; and Joel Goodman, a sophomore performance major from Lone Grove. Steward and Vietta recently performed with the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Honor Band where Steward earned the coveted position of first chair. There is no admission charge.
