SOSU Symphonic Choir to Present Opera Program

Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Symphonic Choir will present an evening of opera choruses Thursday, April 19, in Montgomery Auditorium.
The Symphonic Choir, under the direction of Dr. Stacy Weger, will perform at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Oklahoma Opera Festival. The event is free and open to the public.
A wide variety of opera favorites will be sung, from Verdi’s Anvil Chorus to the March of the Toreadors from Bizet’s “Carmen.”
Eleven choruses will be performed with several of these featuring student and community soloists, including Kerry Safe, Megan Crews, Aprill Raines, Leslie LeMaster, Dane Cunningham and Jocelyn Batts.
Guest artists include Dr. Steven Emge, Director of Opera and Assistant Professor of Voice at Southeastern, and Edmund Emge, the Artistic Director of the world-famous Opernfestpiele of St. Margarenthien, Vienna.
