SOSU Collecting Memorabilia for Centennial Celebration

DURANT, Okla. ­ Southeastern Oklahoma State University will be celebrating its centennial in 2009 with a number of special events.

The Southeastern Centennial Steering Committee is currently collecting artifacts and memorabilia to display during the Centennial Year celebration. Examples include early letter jackets, postcards, beanies, athletic/band uniforms, early yearbooks and class rings/pins, copies of early diplomas/certificates/scrapbooks/event programs, books written by alumni/faculty, early medals/trophies, and cheerleading megaphones/uniforms. Anyone who has items for loan to the University for display is asked to contact Sharon Morrison at 580-745-3172.

In addition, the University will publish a centennial history book next year. Anyone with historic photos for possible inclusion in the book is asked to contact Alan Burton at 580-745-2731.
