Softball Climbs into Top-10 in NFCA Poll

DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern Oklahoma State softball team (27-4) has climbed to its highest ranking since joining the NCAA, garnering No. 8 in the nation as announced by the NCFA on Wednesday.
The Savage Storm are coming off a road sweep of Texas Woman’s, and have won 21 of their last 22, including seven in a row.
Joining SOSU from the Lone Star Conference in the rankings is Angelo State who is No. 3, while Central Oklahoma is receiving votes.
Also from the region are St. Mary’s who slipped to No. 14 and St. Edward’s who moved to No. 21.
Alabama-Huntsville tops the poll and received six of the eight first place votes, while Georgia College and State is second with ASU in third and receiving the other two first place votes.
Barry sits in fourth, Nebraska-Omaha in fifth, followed by Lock Haven, Grand Valley State, SOSU, UC-San Diego and Francis Marion to round out the top-10.
Southeastern will be back in action after enjoying a break, with Texas Wesleyan scheduled to come to the SOSU Softball Complex on March 25 for a double-header set for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
