Southeastern Centennial to feature 100 Hours of Celebration March 23-27

DURANT, Okla. -- Southeastern Oklahoma State University continues its 2009 Centennial Celebration with a full slate of events during the week of March 23-27.

Unless otherwise noted, events are free of charge and open to the Southeastern community and the public.

Among the special events scheduled are a re-enactment of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt's visit to the Southeastern campus in 1937; the E.T. Dunlap Lectureship with Chancellor and former Southeastern president Glen D. Johnson; and a Community-Alumni Breakfast, the Retired/Current Faculty Breakfast, a Breakfast and Chat with Chancellor Johnson, and a carillon concert.

The weeklong activities will include 100 Hours of Celebration, highlighting the University's commitment to Discovery and Learning, and Health and Wellness. During this time, the general public is invited to attend an open class (see schedule below) taught by Southeastern faculty members.

The 5thannual Great Plains Juried Art Exhibit on Display, 1-5 p.m. daily in the Centre Gallery at the Visual and Performing Arts Center (Special guided tour on Thursday, March 26, with artist Janie Umsted)
