Southeastern flight team earns high marks in national competition

DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern Oklahoma State University flight team placed 11th overall at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association National Flight Competition, held recently in St. Louis.
Southeastern also placed 12th overall in the flying events at the national competition.
A total of 28 teams competed, with Southeastern earning the highest national ranking among the four-year schools in Oklahoma.
Individual results for Southeastern were as follows:
Computer Accuracy (140 total contestants)
- 32nd place – Steve Libick (top 23%)
- 40th – Zachary Smith (top 29%)
Simulated Comprehensive Aircraft Navigation (139 total contestants)
- 21st – Ben Campbell (top 15%)
- 35th – Devin Freeman (top 25 %)
Message Drop (138 total contestants)
- 6th - Austin McCann (Drop Master) (top 4%)
Steve Libick (Pilot) - 15th – Andrew Hart (Drop Master) (top 11%)
