DURANT, Okla. -- Computer science professors from throughout Oklahoma and Texas attended the third annual Oklahoma Computing Conference, held Friday in the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Student Union.

"This is the first time that Southeastern has hosted this particular event," said Southeastern assistant professor Mike Morris. "We were pleased with the turnout and we had a number of outstanding presentations on a variety of topics."

The keynote speaker was Henry Neeman, director of the University of Oklahoma Supercomputing Center for Education and Research.

The Oklahoma Computing Consortium (OCC) was formed three years ago by Bill Walker, a Computer Science professor at East Central University. The purpose of the consortium is to provide a forum for professors in the computing fields to discuss current trends, problems, issues and objectives for the higher educational environment.
