Southeastern hosts Education Job Fair on April 2
DURANT, Okla. -- Southeastern Oklahoma State University's 2009 Education Job Fair (formerly known as Teacher Placement Day) will be held from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, in the old Student Union Ballroom.
The Education Job Fair is free for both Education-related job seekers and school representatives. The public is invited to attend. School representatives are requested to register prior to the event
Scott Hensley, SE's Director of the Career Management Center, said, "This is the 30th-annual event and we've opened it up to the public. There is no charge for those seeking Education-related jobs, specifically teachers."
Southeastern's Education Job Fair/Teacher Placement Day has attracted between 30 and 65 schools, both public and private, over the years. Most of the schools are from the local region (southeastern Oklahoma, north Texas).
Education Service Centers from Region 9, Region 10, etc., have attended, along with Alternative Certification providers and school systems from as far away as Houston and south Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Louisiana, and even Guam.
Hensley said, "We encourage Education-related job seekers to dress professionally and bring plenty of resumes. They can view the names of the schools that have already registered for this event by visiting our website: http://placement.se.edu and clicking on the "Education Job Fair" link on the menu bar. The website is updated as registrations are received."
Non-SE associated job seekers may register at the door on the day of the event. SE students, grads, and alumni can and should register with the SE Career Management Center prior to the event. Those registering before Spring Break (March 16) will have their Credential Files available to recruiters during the Job Fair.
