Dr. Jonathan Trent to address graduates at Southeastern Commencement on May 16
DURANT, Okla. – Dr. Jonathan Trent will address graduates at Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Spring Commencement, scheduled for May 16 at Paul Laird Field.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., followed immediately by a reception for the graduates and their families in the Visual & Performing Arts Center.
Dr. Trent is an assistant professor of medicine in the Department of Sarcoma Medical Oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
He earned his B.S. in chemistry at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1988 and his M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
While at Southeastern, Trent was a Parsons Scholar, active in the Student Government Association, was named to the President’s Honor Roll, and received the American Institute of Chemists Outstanding Senior Student Award in 1988.
In case of rain, commencement will be moved indoors with two ceremonies in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.
