Former SE Theatre student returns to campus for lecture

DURANT, Okla. – With Homecoming just around the corner, alumni have been popping up all around campus. Theatre at Southeastern is proud to welcome back Jerry Lame, a student and graduate of our program back in the 90s, to campus for a lecture and talkback with our students and university community on Friday, September 11. Mr. Lame will be guest lecturer to the Stage Management Class at 10 10:50 am and will hold a talkback/Q&A with Majors/Minors from 2:30 3:30 pm.
Jerry Lame has worked as a technician, stage manager, and artist in regional theatre and Broadway for over a decade and brings experience and interesting stories to us from his home in New York City. Originally from Savanna, Oklahoma, Lame graduated from Southeastern in 1996 with at BA in Theatre Management. In 1999 Jerry took his first professional Stage Management job and joined Actor's Equity Association (AEA) the Union for Actors and Stage Managers. Jerry moved to New York in May of 2000 and began temping at various financial institutions. In November of 2000 Jerry got his first New York job with A Christmas Carol that played Madison Square Garden. Jerry has had the pleasure of working with many actors from all different genres of show business. Among the most famous are Patti LuPone, Alan Rickman, Michele Lee, Cathy Rigby, Tom Wopat, Beth Leavel, Jerry Mitchell, Robert Newman, Dee Hoty, Stacy Keach, Hunter Foster and Twyla Tharp. His favorite experience was doing Oklahoma! with Shirley Jones as Aunt Eller.
