Southeastern Organization & Merchant Fair set for Aug. 24

DURANT, Okla. – The annual Southeastern Oklahoma State University Organization and Merchant Fair is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 24.

The Fair includes student organizations, academic departments, and service areas at SE, as well as Durant area merchants. It is designed to introduce the campus community (students, faculty, and staff) to all of the wonderful opportunities Southeastern and Durant have to offer.

Booths will be set up between 10-11 a.m. Aug. 24 in the Student Union. There is no charge for participation and parking will be available in the lot east of the Union.

The Fair will be open from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. SE’s Office of Student Life (OSL) will furnish one table, 6-8 feet in length, two chairs, helium, and temporary signage for any organization or department interested in participating.

The OSL suggests booths should be inviting, with colorful displays, freebies, games or activities, informative handouts, and friendly people to discuss the great qualities of the respective groups or businesses.

Providing a door prize guarantees your name will be announced over the public address system.

Student organizations may win up to $200. A $100 prize will be given for the Most Attractive/Interesting Display and a $100 prize will be awarded for the Friendliest Display.

Sodexho Food Services will serve lunch in the Student Union Café at $6.50 plus tax for all you can eat.

Entry deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 19, for student organizations, academic departments/offices, and Durant area merchants.
