First recipient of the Colton Sherrill Memorial Gift Scholarship Awarded

DURANT'S JAKE VIETTA, right, a 2009 Durant High School graduate, is the first recipient of the Colton Sherrill Memorial Gift Scholarship from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Kyle Stafford, Executive Director of University Advancement, presented the scholarship. Jake, who will enter Southeastern in the fall, is the son of John and Debbie Vietta. Colton's parents, Trace and Dena Sherrill, are both graduates of Durant High School. Colton participated in every sport involving a ball, but his favorites were basketball and soccer.
