Southeastern to conduct forum on teacher preparation

Press Release Date: 10-07-2009

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University will conduct a public forum regarding its teacher preparation program from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, on the Southeastern campus in the old student union ballroom.

With the passage of HB 1549, the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation was established and charged with developing a competency-based teacher preparation and teacher testing system. This program affects teacher candidates who began teacher preparation after September 1, 1997.

The forum is an opportunity for teachers, administrators, parents, future teachers, and business and community leaders to discuss and ask questions about the Teacher Preparation Program.
