Chorale Spring Concert set for April 29

DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern Chorale, under the direction of Stacy Weger, will complete its performance schedule this year with a Spring Concert on Thursday, April 29. The concert will be held in the Fine Arts Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m., and is free and open to the public.
The concert, Chansons Françaises pour lePrintemps, will feature an all-French repertoire with emphasis on songs of love and passion. The choral pieces will range from Renaissance works to contemporary motets, and will conclude with selections from Bizet's Carmen. Featured soloists for Carmen include Cheri Conway, Lone Grove; Jocelyn Batts, Ardmore; and Aaron Williams, Bartlesville.
The concert will showcase student conductors as they take their first steps into their professional conducting careers. Student conductors include Justin Britt, Bristow; Charli Jo Haggard, Dickson; Cheri Conway, Lone Grove; and Weslee Vance, Denton, Texas.
This concert concludes one of the most successful years of performance for the Chorale, having been featured earlier in concert at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, and at the state conference of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association.
