Press Release Date: 01-13-2010
DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Chorale has been chosen as a featured performer at the 2010 Oklahoma Music Educators Association annual conference.
The Chorale, SE's premiere vocal ensemble, and under the direction of Dr. Stacy Weger, will perform Jan. 22 at the Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa. The Chorale also performed at the conference in 2007.
One of the highlights of the 2010 appearance will be the performance of the piece commissioned by the Chorale and the University to celebrate SE's Centennial Year, "Of Fire and the Rose," written by David Childs.
The Chorale most recently completed its Winter Tour of the Southeast, culminating in a featured concert at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. In June, the Southeastern Chorale performed in New York City's Carnegie Hall.
