Southeastern gears up for start of Fall Semester

DURANT, Okla. – Fall semester classes will begin Monday, Aug. 16, at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Between now and then and afterwards, there are plenty of events on campus.

"Welcome Week" at SE begins Saturday, Aug. 14, and continues through Aug. 19. Freshman Convocation will be held on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Montgomery Auditorium, followed by a cookout on the front lawn for new students and their parents and families.

Following is the schedule of Welcome Week activities:

Saturday

  • Freshman Convocation, Montgomery Auditorium, 4:30 p.m.
  • Convocation BBQ, Front Lawn, immediately following Convocation

Sunday

  • Residence Life Orientation, Student Union, Noon-2 p.m.

Monday

  • Lunch with Administrators, Student Union Café, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • First Lecture, Student Union Auditorium, 1 p.m.
  • Scrimmage Game, Paul Laird Field, 4 p.m.
  • Greek Cook-Out, Northwest Corner of Paul Laird Field, 4 p.m.

Tuesday

  • Coffee House, Student Union Atrium, Noon-1 p.m.
  • Block Party, in front of Shearer Hall & Suites, 7:30 -10 p.m.

Wednesday

  • Personal Safety, Student Union Gym, 6-7:30 p.m.
  • Campus Praise, Student Union 2nd Floor Loft, 8 p.m.

Thursday

  • SE Gives Back, Student Union Gym, 1-4 p.m.
  • Hypnotist , Fine Arts Recital Hall, 7:30 p.m.
