Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society Initiates 16 at Southeastern

DURANT, Okla. – The Beta Delta Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi held an Initiation Banquet Saturday at the Massey Building to welcome 16 new members from Southeastern’s Teacher Education Program.
Southeastern president Larry Minks and Dr. Will Mawer, Dean of the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences, welcomed the new Kadelphians. Susie Wilson, Coordinator of Teacher Education Services, presented the program outlining the history of the SE chapter since its inception in 1928.
KDP originated in 1911, and is an international honor society in education that recognizes academic achievement, exemplary behavior, and commitment to the field of teaching. There are more than 600 chapters across North America and internationally. Such notables as John Dewey, Albert Einstein, Margaret Mead, Eleanor Roosevelt, George Washington Carver, and Jean Piaget have been members.
