Southeastern's Textbook Reserve program expands to Ardmore
Press Release Date: 02-08-2010
DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University has expanded the Textbook Reserve Program (TRP) to include Southeastern students enrolled at the Ardmore Higher Education Center.
Textbooks were delivered last week to the Ardmore Center by Dr. Bryon Clark, Dean of Graduate and University Studies, and Sharon Morrison, Library Director at Southeastern.
Morrison said, “The program started in the Fall of 2008 and has exceeded our expectations with more than 3,000 items checked out. This fall, the program was expanded to make available all textbooks for all classes being taught on the Durant campus. This spring, we are excited to be able to include the Ardmore campus in our Textbook Reserve Program.”
The program is designed to help offset the financial burden imposed on students by making available in the library – free of charge – required textbooks for courses offered in education, math and psychology.
All SE students who are enrolled for the Spring 2010 semester at AHEC are eligible to participate in the TRP. The reserve books are located in the Mary Jane Hamilton Library on the Ardmore campus. Inquiries should be made at the circulation desk.
Students must have valid Southeastern identification and books may be checked out for room use only. Textbooks may be checked out for a 2-hour period, but may not be removed from the library or checked out overnight.
The textbooks may be checked out from the library staff at the circulation desk during regular hours – Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Cindy Pollard, Library Director at the Ardmore Higher Education Center, is encouraging students to participate in the program.
