Southeastern competes in Supercomputing Symposium

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University faculty members Mike Morris and Dr. Karl Frinkle, along with nine students, attended the "OU Supercomputing Symposium" at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
Frinkle, associate professor of mathematics, is working with Morris, assistant professor of Chemistry, Computer, and Physical Sciences, on a supercomputer project that will allow students to learn about the latest computer programming technology, which is parallel programming.
This was the 10th year for the event, which includes seminars and vendors relating to High Performance Computing.
Southeastern students attending the symposium were Computer Information Systems majors Alan Grimes, David Muniz, Kris Owen and Kyle Woolly, along with Computer Science majors Zach Cobb, Ben Fewell, Brent Gandy, Adam Grant and Zach Pauls.
The annual event is presented by the Oklahoma Supercomputing Center for Education and Research (OSCER).
