Dates scheduled for Camp SE orientation

DURANT, Okla. – Camp SE 2011 has been scheduled for June 26-27, July 17-18 and July 31-August 1 at Southeastern Oklahoma State Uiversity.

Camp SE is an overnight experience for first-year students and Camp SE Online is designed for nontraditional and transfer students.

All new students are required to attend Camp SE or complete Camp SE Online.

Camp SE includes an overnight stay in Shearer Hall and Suites. Students are paired with a Savage Storm Leader and a small team of other new students. They will participate in interactive, challenging and fun team-building activities and be introduced to issues often faced by new students and also various resources available on campus.

Students will also learn about specific Southeastern traditions, history and involvement opportunities, along with meeting a faculty member and learning about academic expectations.

Camp SE costs $80 per student. The fee includes three meals in the University Café; snacks; one-night stay in Shearer Hall and Suites; on-campus ropes course experience; Camp SE T-shirt; other materials and supplies.

Parents or family members may attend Camp SE for only $20 and under-18 may attend at no charge.

Camp SE’s two-day schedule includes registration and check-in at 11 a.m., opening session at 1 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m.

The first day of Camp SE also includes breakout sessions, competition, traditions and team time.

The second day begins with breakfast at 9 a.m., opening and breakout sessions, lunch at 12:30, faculty friends, information technology, and a closing session at 3:30 p.m., followed by individualized time.

Individualized time features optional visits, campus tours, academic advising, financial aid, residence life and more.

Camp SE Online costs $50 per student.
