Connie Arneson receives Trio recognition

DURANT, Okla. – Connie Arneson, trainer-coordinator of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Gear Up program, was honored recently.
Arneson was recognized as the Oklahoma Division of Student Assistance (ODSA) 2010-2011 Hall of Fame Honoree from District 2. This award is presented to former students who have been recognized as TRiO participants and for students whom have acknowledged TRiO played a fundamental role in their educational achievements.
Additionally, Arneson has been nominated to receive the 2011 National TRiO Achiever Award. This award is designed to recognize and honor former National TRiO participants who have demonstrated exemplary accomplishments in their professional pursuits, as well as TRiO playing a fundamental role in their educational achievements.
The recipients of National TRiO Achiever Award will be honored and recognized at the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) 30th Annual Conference, which will be held in Washington D.C., September 27, 2011.
Arneson is based at the Southeastern Oklahoma State University campus. She earned both her bachelor and master’s degrees at Southeastern.
