Career Fair upcoming at Southeastern

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Career Fair begins Tuesday, Nov. 1, with activities scheduled over three days.

Scott Hensley, Director of Southeastern’s Career Management Center, said the Career Fair is a great opportunity for prospective employees to meet prospective employers.

The Fair is open to Southeastern students, faculty and staff members, as well as the public. Those attending the Career Fair should dress for success and bring current resumes.

Southeastern will host two events Tuesday and three Wednesday, with interviews possible on Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday, November 1

“How to Become a Texas Game Warden” will be the topic from 6-7 p.m. in the University Center, room 215. Royce Wells, a retired Texas Game Warden who recruits for Texas Parks and Wildlife, will handle the presentation. All majors are welcome.

“The Industrial Company” is scheduled for 6-7 p.m. in the Magnolia Room. Dee Howe of The Industrial Company (TIC) will present information on TIC and also conduct interviews on Wednesday. This session is for junior and senior Occupational Safety and Health majors. Attendance at the information session is required for those wanting an interview.

Wednesday, November 2

“Southeastern Career and Graduate School Fair” is slated for 10 a.m.-noon in the Ballroom. All majors are welcome. There is no entrance fee for job seekers.

“Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA/DOJ)” will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room. Terri Wyatt, Special Agent Recruiter, will provide information with all majors welcome, especially Criminal Justice and related fields such as Sociology and Behavioral Studies.

“U.S. Census Bureau” is scheduled from 2-3 p.m. in the University Center, room 215. Avelynn Mitra will discuss jobs and internships with all majors welcome.
