Student broadcasters earn honors at state conference

DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern Oklahoma State University broadcasting team received a number of honors at the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters annual conference in Tulsa.

Students attended two days of workshops, meetings, a career fair and vendor exhibits.

Charles Jackson, a senior from Fort Worth, took  2nd place awards in three categories: television entertainment, television public service announcement, and television promotional spot.

Brandon Green, a senior from McAlester, was awarded 1st place for best radio promotional spot.

Jesse Risner, a junior from Durant, was the recipient of the Mark Rawlings Scholarship.

“I am so pleased with the dedication and hard work of our broadcasters this year,” said Dell McLain, who serves as Southeastern Director of Broadcasting. “It was great to see them at the convention, meeting industry professionals, attending informative workshops and sharing their production work with the state.”
