Women’s Entrepreneur Seminar scheduled for Oct. 17

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University will be the site of a Women’s Entrepreneur Seminar on Oct. 17.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Hallie McKinney Ballroom. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the seminar will be from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants will be provided with a brief look at current opportunities in markets and industries as it relates to women in business from successful women entrepreneurs.

Panelists from the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center, REI Women’s Business Center, and the Small Business Administration will provide insight and answer questions.

Topics to be addressed include regulatory issues and changing laws, financing and funding, managing risk, social media marketing tips, cash flow and expense management, public relations, goal-setting, growth and planning for the future.

An awards presentation honoring successful women entrepreneurs will follow the sessions – award nominations are currently being accepted online.

Seminar sponsors are the Southeastern John Massey School of Business, the Don. W. Sands Lectureship in Business Administration, and the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center.

The seminar is being held in conjunction with Women Entrepreneurship Week (Oct. 13-20). Southeastern is one of 125 colleges and universities worldwide holding seminars and conferences during the week.
