Musical Arts Series concludes with Moran Woodwind Quartet on April 2

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Musical Arts Series will present the Moran Woodwind Quintet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, in the Fine Arts Recital Hall.

This will be the final event of the 2012-13 season. It is free of charge and open to the public. The quintet will also perform that afternoon at a local school.

The Musical Arts Series is sponsored by Southeastern, the Red River Arts Council, Oklahoma Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Donna Massey

Music Education Fund, Cherokee Telephone, and local donors and supporters.
The Moran Quintet is one of the most active and visible groups in the Midwest. It is the resident faculty woodwind quintet of the University of Nebraska School of Music in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.

Formed in 1986 and named for the late John Moran, former Director of the School of Music, the quintet has toured extensively and performed at conventions of the College Music Society, the International Double Reed Society and the International Horn Society.

The quintet’s repertoire includes all musical styles and periods.
