Two business professors receive ‘Outstanding Educator Awards’

DURANT, Okla. – Two professors in the John Massey School of Business at Southeastern Oklahoma State University were recognized with “Outstanding Educator’’ awards recently.

Dr. Kitty Campbell received the McGraw-Hill “Outstanding Educator” Award from the Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship at the 45th annual meeting of the Federation of Business Disciplines in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

At the same meeting, Dr. Lawrence Silver received the McGraw-Hill “Outstanding Educator” Award from the Southwest Case Research Association.

Campbell holds the title of Massey Professor and Chair of the Department of Management & Marketing at Southeastern. She has taught a wide range of courses in

Management, including Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship.

Campbell served two terms as President of the Association for Small Business & Entrepreneurship in 2005 and 2009 and was named a Fellow of the Association in 2010. In 2011, she was named “Professor of the Year” at Southeastern for outstanding teaching, service, and scholarship.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Texas A & M University, a Master of Administrative Studies from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education from Texas A & M University-Commerce.

Dr. Lawrence Silver

Silver is Professor of Marketing and is the John Massey Endowed Chair in Marketing at Southeastern.

He is a past President of the Southwest Case Research Association and co-author of two business textbooks. In 2012, Silver received the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs Teaching Excellence Award for the Southwestern Council (Region 6).

Silver earned his Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University, a Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech, a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana Tech, and his Doctor of Business Administration from Louisiana Tech.
