When will my course for the upcoming semester be available?
Generally, course will be available on or after the first day of classes. Check with your instructor for a specific date.
My courses from this past semester have disappeared! What happened?
More than likely, your courses have been made unavailable by your instructor. Usually this is done to allow the instructor to work on the course for the upcoming semester.
Past semester courses are still showing up in my course listing. How do I remove past courses?
Note: This will also work for courses that you have dropped!
There are two ways to remove past courses. First, you can hide old courses so they do not show up on your "My SE " page. Locate and click the small pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the "My Courses" module. You will want to remove any check marks next to courses that you no longer wish to see. Second, you can contact the instructor and ask them to make the course unavailable.
For courses you have dropped, you can either contact the instructor and asked to be removed or use the procedure above to remove the course from your current course listing.
My instructor says to check SE Blackboard, but their course is not listed as one I am currently enrolled in. How do I access this instructor's course?
It is possible that your instructor has not made the course "available". Please contact them and ask them to turn on the course.
Tinker and OKCCC Students - My course is not listed in Blackboard.
There are several possible reasons why your courses are not showing up. It is possible your instructor has not turned on the course. Please contact them and ask when the course will be made available. The course might have been created late and students have not been uploaded. Please try back the following day.
Remote Site IETV Students - My course is not showing up.
Often times, you will not see a course listed because your enrollment has not been processed on campus. If you enroll at the McCurtain County Branch Campus or one of the Higher Education Centers (McAlester or Ardmore), please allow a couple of days for your enrollment to be added to the campus computer systems. Once that process is complete, students will be added to the course the following morning.
I can access Bb from home and from the SE campus, but not from my work. Why is that?
Often times, your business network is protected from the outside by a firewall. This protection may be preventing you from accessing SE Blackboard. Contact your local network administrator and ask is SE Blackboard is accessible from within your company's computers.
When I tried to log in, I received the error "no authentication login credentials were provided..." (Internet Explorer 6.X or higher)
Your security settings may need to be adjusted to allow scripts. Blackboard requires the ability to run scripts in some areas. To adjust this setting, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security. Next, click the Internet zone icon at the top of the box. Select custom level. Scroll down the screen until you reach the "Scripting" section. Here, you should make sure that "Active Scripting" is enabled. If not, select it and click OK.
When logging into SE Blackboard, I receive an error to contact the system administrator. The second time I enter my user information, I can usually get in.
The possible cause might be that you are saving the login page as a favorite instead of the SE Blackboard entry page. In order to avoid this issue, you should start your Blackboard session by using the Blackboard links on http://www.se.edu or http://blackboard.se.edu. Once there, click the login button. When you do that, Blackboard then opens the logon screen and begins a session that should permit you to log in correctly.
When trying to access SE Blackboard, I receive the following error:"An error occurred in the authentication module.: Error occurred while trying to lookup the current session in the database."(Internet Explorer 6.X or higher)
It is possible that cookies are not correctly enabled on your computer. Blackboard is unable to function properly without cookies enabled. To enable cookies, click Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy and move the slider to "Medium". You can move the slider lower, but you may allow cookies that could be harmful to your computer.
I received the following error: "An error occurred while the system was processing this login request." when trying to log in to SE Blackboard.
The error occurs when the Blackboard username is typed incorrectly. Please review the username guidelines to verify what your username should be. If, after trying a username solution above, you are still unable to log into SE Blackboard, please submit a student technical support request using the link of the SE Blackboard login page.
Getting Help & Other Miscellaneous Questions...
I would like to save SE Blackboard as a favorite.
In order to avoid errors, you will need to save the SE Blackboard entry page and NOT the login page. Specifically, you will want to save http://blackboard.se.edu as your favorite and not the actual page where you type in your log in information.
What are the minimum hardware/software requirements for SE Blackboard?
For a complete listing, please visit: http://www.se.edu/online-learning/technology/hardware-software-requirements/
What are some of the plug-ins I might need for a course in Blackboard?
To see a list of plug-ins, please visit: http://www.se.edu/de/bb_plugins.htm
How do I request technical support when using SE Blackboard?
To request technical support, use the link at http://blackboard.se.edu. The link is located on the left-side of the screen under the Student Links section.
The text on my computer screen is very small.
It is possible that your screen font size has been adjusted. To change it, click View -> Text Size -> and select "Medium" (or larger, if you prefer).
Once inside SE Blackboard, is there a place to get additional help?
Yes! Each student has access to a comprehensive, fully-searchable online users manual. Generally, the student manual is located inside each course under the Student Tools button.
There is a padlock listed for a quiz/exam in my gradebook. What does it mean and how can I see my grade?
The padlock means the test has not been completed successfully or that it is still in progress (if you instructor has enabled the option for you to log back in and complete it at a later time). Not being able to complete the test successfully usually comes about because the session was disrupted by a loss of internet connectivity or power. To resolve this issue, you will need to contact your instructor to see if the test can be reset. Please note that it is up to each individual instructor whether he/she will allow you to take the test again.
My instructor mentioned that a syllabus, PowerPoint presentation or other course file has been posted into Blackboard. However, I can't seem to find it. Where is it?
Once you log in to Bb, click on the name of the course. Use the navigation buttons, located on the left side of the page, to access the materials your instructor has posted. Select Course Documents to locate the syllabus, course schedules, PowerPoint presentations, etc. Your instructor may post the materials in more than one place, so feel free to explore all the navigation buttons!
I am supposed to use the "Assignment link" to upload a document. How do I do this?
