Location of an Object

Equations that describe velocity and acceleration are given below. In all, there are three equations:

v_a = (v_f + v_o) / 2

where v_a is the average velocity, v_f is the final velocity, and v_o is the initial velocity;

v = (y_f - y_o) / t

where y_f is the final position, y₀ is the initial position, and t is the elapsed time; and

a =( v_f - v_o )/ t

where a is the average acceleration. Use these three equations to derive the formula

y_f = ½at² + v_ot + y_o

which is the equation that used to describe the location of an object at time t.
