Integrated Studies of Performance

In the Integrated Studies of Performance program, students receive hands-on, conservatory-style training in various acting methods, styles, and historical periods that provides students a broad understanding of acting, directing and musical theatre. A vigorous production season provides ample opportunity for on-stage experiences, and most performance majors have significant on-stage experience by the end of their first year.

Southeastern has three different sized performance venues including 600-seat, proscenium Montgomery Auditorium in historical Morrison Hall, the 90-seat, black-box Playhouse, and the 200-seat, multi-purpose Visual and Performing Arts Center.

Theatre at Southeastern is connected to the Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival – a professional theatre company.

Audition Requirements

For acceptance into the Integrated Studies of Performance program, students must schedule and complete a company audition. The audition will consist of amonologue, and 32-bars of a song which must be accompanied. Additionally, students may submit a headshot and resume. Following the audition, studentswill engage in an interview with members of our faculty. The audition concludes with a campus tour, tour of the theater spaces, and a class preview may be included.
