DESCRIPTION:Please mark your calendars for Oct. 29th\, from 11-1pm for a $7 Loaded Baked Potato lunch\, including dessert and a drink\, at the Student Union Loft!!  Proceeds from the will go to the Talent Search Rewards & Recognition Foundation Account.  The R&R program allows the Talent Search program to assist students with needs that cannot be paid for with program funds.  The R&R program has provided students with entry fees\, student leadership activities\, event door prizes and incentive program items. \nWhat is the Rewards & Recognition Program?\nThe rewards and recognition program was created from donations made by supporters and friends of Talent Search. They believed in the mission of Talent Search and recognized the potential of the students we serve. Our donors understood the challenges of budget restrictions and sought to bridge the gap. Since its inception the rewards and recognition program has allowed for the TS program to extend services to students through a reward program\, assisting students with student leadership fees\, admission fees to cultural events/activities and other miscellaneous items & activities. \nHow can you help?\nYou can help us continue the mission of the rewards & recognition program in a number of ways:\n1. Make a monetary donation directly to the R&R SE Foundation account.\n2. Donate incentive items: art supplies\, board games\, balls (basketball\, soccer\, football\, volleyballs)\, books\, t-shirts\, etc.\n3.Attend & Purchase a meal at the Lunch fundraiser 10/29/2024 at the SU Loft! SUMMARY:Southeastern Choirs Fall Concert
DESCRIPTION:The performance will feature a collection of choral works highlighting galaxies\, celestial bodies\, and the heavens.  Some well-known favorites will be offered\, such as The Heavens Are Telling from Haydn’s Creation\, Ride the Chariot a classic African American Spiritual by William Henry Smith\, and Choose Something Like A Star by Randall Thompson. \nNewer selections include a piece by Latvian composer Erik Ešenvalds titled Stars\, which employs tuned water glasses played while the choir sings to mimic the “music of the spheres\,” and Gai Bintang\, a complex arrangement of a children’s song about reaching the stars by Indonesian composer Budi Susanto Johanes. \nAlong with the SE Choral Union and the Southeastern Chorale\, the concert will also highlight several Southeastern music faculty\, including Dr. Sunny Yun\, pianist\, Dr. Stella Yoon\, soprano\, and Audrey Lee\, violinist.
