{"id":1257,"date":"2025-02-24T17:24:37","date_gmt":"2025-02-24T17:24:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.se.edu\/careers\/?p=1257"},"modified":"2025-02-24T17:24:41","modified_gmt":"2025-02-24T17:24:41","slug":"safety-olympics-and-career-fair-to-be-held-at-southeastern-on-feb-27-28","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.se.edu\/careers\/2025\/02\/24\/safety-olympics-and-career-fair-to-be-held-at-southeastern-on-feb-27-28\/","title":{"rendered":"Safety Olympics and Career Fair to be held at Southeastern on Feb. 27-28"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Southeastern<\/strong> Oklahoma State University will host the annual Safety Olympics and Safety Career Fair on the Durant campus on Thursday, February 27 and Friday, February 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Safety Olympics challenges the knowledge and skills of top safety college students by placing them in multiple safety events over a two-day period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event\u2019s website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.SE.edu\/safetyolympics\">www.SE.edu\/safetyolympics<\/a> has the full schedule of events and competitions, as well as information on the Thursday career fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.se.edu\/careers\/safety-career-fair-2025\/\">career fair<\/a> will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, in the Hallie McKinney Ballroom, with over 35 potential employers attending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event is particularly important to Southeastern, as the Occupational Health and Safety major is one of the majors with the highest enrollment, sending qualified professionals into a high-demand profession in the state of Oklahoma and the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s edition of the Safety Olympics will see six teams competing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Southeastern Oklahoma State<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University of Central Missouri (Warrensburg, Mo.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collin College (Collin County, Texas)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Montana Technical University (Butte, Mont.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oklahoma State University (Stillwater, Okla.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pittsburg State University (Pittsburg, Kans.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The teams will compete in six events: Accident Investigation, Hazard Identification, Training Presentation, Safety Culture Presentation, Safety Innovation Presentation, and Safety Jeopardy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Placement awards will be announced at a banquet at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 28, at the Massey Building (200 W.
