Biography
Doug Hansen is currently an Instructor and Associate Director of Bands at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. For the past 3 ½ years, he has served Southeastern as an adjunct instructor of Music Education. Prior to coming to Southeastern, Doug was a High School Band Director for 37 years. During those years, his bands consistently received superior ratings at concert and marching band competitions. Many of his were selected to district and state honor bands. Among his accomplishments are Teacher of the Year at Lone Grove Schools 2013, Band Director Sweepstakes Award 2011,2012 and the Oklahoma Small School Band Director’s Association Distinguished Service Award 2018. Doug also played Trumpet in the 145th Oklahoma National Guard Band for 23 years. Doug acknowledges his greatest blessings: His wife, children and 13 Grandchildren.
